Amazon Fire TV Stick users are just realizing they’ve been ‘downloading apps wrong’ and the correct way is much faster
AMAZON Fire TV Stick users struggling to download apps may want to try a speedy trick.
It involves downloading the apps on a completely separate device.
According to Tech Hive, using Fire TV's online app store on a computer or laptop can be a faster way to download apps.
You'll have to log in to your Amazon account first.
It's also worth making sure your Fire TV is selected on the list of where you'd like the apps to be downloaded.
Then, you're free to browse and install remotely.
If you prefer installing apps on your TV, there are other ways to speed up the download process.
Clear the cache of other apps so they're not putting a heavy demand on your device.
Avoiding having apps running the background is a good idea so your TV and internet connection can just focus on the app download.
Every app you download will create a cache on your Fire TV Stick.
A cache stores data and can be useful as it helps an app remember your needs and preferred content.
If you don't clear this often, you may notice your Fire Stick playing up due to storage issues.
To clear an app's cache, go to Settings and then click on Applications and tap Manage Installed Applications.
Here, you can click on the app you want to clear.
Just select Clear Cache and Clear Data.
Sometimes your cache will automatically be cleared after 30 days.
Amazon says: "If an app is unused for more than 30 days and the device is running low on storage, the storage optimizing feature will automatically clear the app cache.
"This feature runs in the background and can’t be deactivated."
