Instead, the DIY whizz proved how you can transform your council house on a budget using bargain buys from the likes of B&Q and Amazon.

In the clip posted to TikTok (@nottheaveragefamily), she begins: "How we temporary did our bathroom for under £200."

The savvy woman can be seen showing off the dirty-looking grout, which appears to be stained yellow after years of grime build up.

The pastel blue tiles are also in desperate need of a modern update while the whole room is screaming for an injection of personality.

Setting to work on a tight budget, she can then be seen simply tracing over the dirty grout lines with a black grout pen which she purchased from Amazon, giving it a whole fresh new look.

"Painted and grouted the tiles, added vinyl floor that we fitted ourselves and some cute accessories with B&Q blinds…" she explains.

Moments later, the DIY fan proudly shows off the new and improved bathroom - and it's little surprise social media users are very impressed with the results.

Gone are the old, dated tiles in favour of new white ones, while the walls have been painted black and a mixture of real and faux plants have been added.

The post was captioned: "Temporary changing our bathroom whilst the rest of the house is decorated!"

It wasn't long before the video garnered a whopping 162k views and hundreds of comments, with many quick to commend the DIY whizz on her handiwork.

"Looks great," praised one.

A second questioned: "Looks lovely! Is the grout pen easy to use? I just know I’ll mess it up."

The savvy woman replied: "Yes it’s just like a marker and it also wipes off the tiles."

Another asked: "What’s the grout pen called and where from please."

She responded: "Hi it’s actually called Grout pen. You can get on Amazon."
