How to dress like Kate Middleton at Christmas with a £1.25 buy from Primark
IF all you want for Christmas is to look like a Princess then look no further.
The Princess of Wales is always at the top of every best-dressed list so it's no wonder we all try and do our best to recreate her looks.
During the most wonderful time of the year we’re often greeted with images of sequins and chintz, be it on social media, on the high street or either on celebrities.
But when it comes to day-to-day life during December (or when stuffing a turkey) it's not all mini skirts and crop tops.
Thankfully, we have Kate as our style inspiration who will never fail to look utterly elegant without looking like a Christmas tree through up on her.
Whether its Royal Carol Service or the big day itself, Catherine is always an effortless vision.

But her designer looks aren’t as unattainable as you might have first thought.
There are bargain tweaks you can make to your festive looks to channel the Princess herself.
Here, Fabulous’ fashion editor Clemmie Fieldsend reveals the outfit hacks you can make to emulate Kate.
TRY A TIPPET
Whether you’re heading out for a festive boozy brunch, off to the in-laws on Boxing Day or burning off those extra roasties with a walk - you’ll be needing to wrap up warm.
But this year swap your woolly scarf for a more stylish and Kate inspired tippet, otherwise known as a faux-fur scarf.
Catherine often wears faux-fur around her neck to keep the chill at bay, and whilst bog-standard scarves will do, a tippet will give you a royal look and they’re available up.
And down the high street at the likes of John Lewis, Asos and Accessorize.
Earn extra Princess points by getting faux-fur cuffed gloves to match.
HAIR ACCESSORIES ARE KEY
The finishing touches to any look, whether you’re a royal or not, are your accessories.
And for Catherine at Christmas time a headband is a good place to start.
She wore this £650 hair band from Jane Taylor back in 2018 and was the epitome of Christmas.
You can do the same with a high street hair band that gives the same look.
In fact Accessorize has this velvet style for just £10, available now.
Just make sure that yours isn’t one with a knot in the middle - a Princess would never be seen in such a thing.
ADD A BELT
When Catherine and the rest of the royal family are doing their Christmas duties you’ll see the Princess of Wales in a smart coat with a thin belt around her waist.
Often to show off that incredible figure of hers but also to make her coats more tailored and altogether look a bit smarter.
And you can do the same for just £1.25.
Primark sells two-packs of belts with gold buckles, like Catherine’s, for just £2.50 and you can use them all year round because for Kate, a belt is for life, not just Christmas.
She wears them, usually in the same or if not tonal colours, all year round with her frocks as well as coats.
HATS COME IN HANDY
Nothing takes the shine away from your festive look, be it sequins or stylish knitwear, than a bobble hat.
Follow Kates lead and leave the tatty hat at home and opt for a stylish fedora to give your look even more oomph.
Even if you’re on a walk to a pub in the countryside, this style still has all the warm functionalities of a beanie or a bobble and will look a lot nicer.
DON’T FORGET THE CROWN JEWELS
If diamonds are a girl's best friend then Kate has a huge friendship circle.
With heirlooms at her fingertips and the best jewellery brands in the world drying to have their jewels dripping off her, she's not short of bling and they always add that little something special to her outfits.
And you can do the same.
I know, we don’t have the same budget, but adding shimmering jewellery to your Christmas outfits will give you an air of Catherine.
And the best bit is, they don’t even need to match your outfit.
At the Together at Christmas Community Carol Service Kate wore a red Catherine Walker coat dress, which was one of Diana's favourite designers, along with red shoes.

But her earrings were blue sapphires and diamonds.
So if the Princess of Wales can break the stereotypical style rules, then so can we.
