ITV boss reveals raunchy shake up to Love Island’s Hideaway ahead of All Stars show
LOVE Island's iconic Hideaway has been given a sensational makeover that bosses hope will get the line-up in the mood for love in South Africa.
The famous compound is where lucky couples go to spend time away from the prying eyes of their co-stars.
But the refreshed Hideaway will allow for an even more intimate experience this year than ever before.
The show's executive producer Mike Spencer told us in an exclusive interview: "I think this is the sexiest Hideaway we’ve ever had.
"It’s the most seductive hideaway we’ve ever done. It just feels so intimate and romantic."
He explained: "In Mallorca, it’s in the same building as the villa but in South Africa it’s not as we don’t have the space on site.

"It feels quite private and tucked away here.
"The Hideaway has a new entrance, we’ve got a corridor this year.
"And with the decor, we’ve gone for a high end hotel vibe."
What's more, a new surprise feature is the extra pull down double bed - so there are two double beds in the room.
"Why? Put it is way, it could be a good old sleepover in here, and we can have two people in one bed and two in another," Mike teased.
"So maybe we will have two couples in the hideaway at the same time.
"And maybe this will be a way that bombshells make their entrance. It’s all very fun, there’s lot of potential."
We've been given a first hand look inside the sprawling retreat before the cast make their grand arrival on Monday night, and it's a bit special.
No expense has been spared turning the £7k-a-night rental villa into an all out lovers' paradise.
Even the bathrooms have been upgraded.
"We’ve tried to make it a bit more bougie hotel vibes," says Mike. "This is always the messiest room in the villa, but we try to keep it tidy."
Outside, the famous fire pit returns close to the Olympic-sized pool.
Last year's series saw Islanders complain about chilly nights, but there is now a remedy for that.
Mike says: "We've installed an air system so we can warm up or cool down the Islanders. That is a brand new thing, we’ve not done this before."
Bosses have made sure there are as many inviting cosy places outside for contestants to get frisky as there are inside.
Bedroom aside, no place sees as much lip-locking as the terrace, and it's sure to be at the centre of the action again.

Mike says: "So this is where the sneaky snogs happen most of the time. So yeah, your first view of the outside area. This is the terrace as we know and love it, and the snug for those intimate moments in the evening. I like it because you're out the way, but you can still see everything."
Love Island: All Stars launches on Monday 15th January at 9pm on ITV1, ITV2, ITVX & STV
