She told Richard Price her dad bought it for just £20 at an army surplus store, but she thought it could possibly date back to World War II.

Much to her delight the antique clock expert confirmed her suspicions, telling her that it likely belonged to a pilot on the German Air Force.

The item dates back to 1941, and is now a rare find because the factory where the watches were made got bombed in 1945.

He added: "Joy of joy it's A. Lange & Söhne the one [all collectors] want."

Richard went on to call it the "rarest of items", leaving the guest in suspense for a minute before revealing how much it could sell for.

When she was unable to guess the watch's value, he revealed the shocking figure - and it was in the thousands.

The expert admitted that dealers are asking for between £8,000 and £10,000 for the object.

The shocked guest gasped "Really?" before joking that she might not return it to her father.
