Luke Littler vs Luke Humphries – World Darts Championship final LIVE RESULTS: 16-year-old sensation aims to make history

  • Littler heads for pre-match omelette

Luke Littler has tucked into a ham and cheese omelette with his girlfriend ahead of the PDC World Darts Championship final.

The 16-year-old sensation and partner Eloise headed for the pre-match meal on Wednesday.

They visited the Cafe Millennium in Angel just hours before Littler's clash with Luke Humphries at Alexandra Palace.

Littler revealed earlier this week he would be sticking with his now-traditional pre-match routine.

He said: "I will just do what I have been doing. In the morning, I will go for my ham-and-cheese omelette. Then for lunch, I will have my pizza.

"I will practice on the board. That’s what I have done every day."

  • Littler earns more followers than Messi in 24 hours

Teenage darts sensation Luke Littler earned more Instagram followers in 24 hours than football icon Lionel Messi, statistics suggest.

With his follower count jumping by over 100k in under 24 hours, it seems that Luke "The Nuke" Littler is proving immensely popular with the general public both on and offline.

With 474,951 followers, he is now the most followed darts player on Instagram, with Michael van Gerwen, who has 411,065, sitting in second place.

Such a swift rise in public awareness isn’t unusual for sports stars, but only the best in the world can boast such an increase in online engagement over such a short span of time.

On January 2nd, Littler gained 107,096 followers, which is more than Barcelona legend Lionel Messi managed in the same period: 60,758, according to AltIndex.

  • Davies heaps praise on Littler

Sky Sports reporter Abigail Davies has heaped praise on Luke Littler ahead of tonight's World Darts Championship final.

Davies has interviewed Littler on stage a number of times after his victories at Ally Pally.

And she took to social media to say: "Luke Littler has produced high averages, taken out big finishes, shown maturity beyond his years & board management is superb but the thing I love most is that when you speak to him, you can tell he's a really massive darts fan like the rest of us. Hope he never loses that joy."

  • Littler's incredible rise to superstardom

Luke Littler has captured the hearts of the British fans across the last month.

SunSport has taken a deep dive into his rise from an 18-year-old nappy-wearing toddler to the world championship final.

Read all about the teenage sensation with our in-depth look here.

  • Cool Hand Luke

Let's not forget the other Luke in tonight's equation.

Luke Humphries has been in electric form throughout the tournament so far and he thrahed Scott Williams 6-0 in the semis last night.

He's now the World No 1 and was tipped to win the championship before it began.

Now all that stands between him and the Sid Waddell trophy is a kebab-eating, Xbox-addicted 16-year-old… should be easy, right?

"The way he's played, I've seen it many times. When you come up on this stage it can be a lot tougher but he's just proved he's got a lot of bottle," Humphries said.

"Nothing is going to faze him. If he plays like he did tonight, tomorrow is not going to faze him at all, so I will probably have to play the game of my life."

  • Another record to be broken?

Eddie Hearn is hoping that tonight's final will break the record set by the semi-final last night.

    Three million viewers, anyone?

  • Record SMASHED

Chairman of the PDC Eddie Hearn has revealed that last night's semi-final between Luke Littler vs Rob Cross was viewed by 2.23million people, an all-time record.

The previous record was set by Phil Taylor vs Bob Anderson in 1995 with 1.65million viewers.

  • Final ticket prices surging

Tonight's final is set to be the most watched World Darts Championship final of all time.

And demand for tickets are surging on the day of the huge showpiece.

Clamour for seats has seen the average price of tickets rise from £73-a-ticket last year to £238-a-ticket this year on Viagogo.

“We've witnessed a surge in ticket demand fuelled by Luke Littler's remarkable story. It's evident that his stellar performances have played a pivotal role in driving this heightened interest and the final is now a hot ticket," Viagogo managing director Cris Miller said.

“At viagogo, our mission is to connect fans with live events in a secure and reliable manner, ensuring every seat finds its audience. The PDC World Darts Championship consistently generates significant sales and we’re helping fans to experience the sport they love by providing a safe platform to access the thrill of the very best live events in the UK and all around the world. Tonight those fans could witness history at Ally Pally.”

  • Legend backs Littler

Luke Littler has been told he can absolutely go all the way tonight, even if it is against pre-tournament favourite Luke Humphries.

“The way he played against Rob Cross, he played excellent. He had about 106 average which is a very, very good standard," Bobby George told GB News.

“He was unbelievable. He played absolutely marvellous to reach the final. So he can win.

“I think he looks a bit older than 16 but he’ been playing since he had a nappy on, he reckons. So he practices the whole time and his whole life has been darts.

“So he’s got his dream but he didn’t just walk in to the PDC World Darts, he was actually the junior world champion.

“He’s a world champion – he’s played at the World Darts Association, he’s played a lot of darts for a young man who is only 16.

“And he’s in the final and he deserves to be in the final because he’s good."

  • Crossy's message to Littler

Gobsmacked Luke Littler has revealed the touching message from his latest victim after reaching the Darts World Championship final aged 16.

The Warrington whizkid had "no words" for his own "crazy" achievement as he claimed he was so shocked - but did explain what Rob Cross told him.

Asked on Sky Sports Darts what words Cross had used to congratulate him, Littler replied: "He just said, 'God bless, I respect you. Do it'."

But the Kebab Kid struggled to explain his Ally Pally fairytale.

He said: "No words. It's amazing. It's crazy - crazy to reach the final on my World Championship debut.

"I was happy winning one game but I could go all the way."

  • Joyrider

Luke Littler has revealed his wholesome plans for after the PDC World Darts Championship.

The 16-year-old stands to win £500,000 if he can overcome Luke Humphries in today's final.

Littler has already guaranteed himself £200k in winnings for reaching the final.

And asked earlier in the tournament how he would spend his winnings, Littler told TalkSPORT: "All my friends are watching at home, we've always said we need to go Blackpool or Alton Towers so I think they will be looking at me like 'you're paying, Luke' and I'll be like, yeah, okay!"

  • Friends to foes

Tonight Luke Littler and Luke Humphries will do battle in the World Darts Championship final.

    How time flies.

  • School days

Luke Littler has revealed the only GCSE he picked up at school was PE.

"Well, I don't have any GCSE," he told Sportsboom. "Everyone's probably got more than me; in fact, I did pass sport."

It doesn't look like Littler will need his GCSE's at all, however, as he's set to earn a whopping £500k with a win tonight at the World Darts Championships final.

And that's before all the sponsorship deals he will likely land after the tournament.

  • Littler's fave Kebab

Luke Littler is being fuelled by £7.99 kebabs as he aims to seal World Darts Championship glory.

The 16-year-old sensation is in the final at Ally Pally after thrashing former world champion Rob Cross 6-2 in Tuesday's semi-final.

After each win Littler has treated himself to a mixed meat doner wrap from fast food chain German Doner Kebab, according to MailOnline.

The kebab usually comes with red cabbage, onion, tomato and lettuce topped off with chilli, garlic and yoghurt sauce.

But Littler prefers just lettuce and mayo, and revealed he would likely celebrate his win over Cross with bottles of Coca-Cola and Fanta.

One of the managers at German Doner Kebab in Angel, Shah Zandi, 50, told MailOnline: "We're proud to be helping to power him to victory.

"The mixed doner wrap is very tasty. It's not too spicy and it has a generous mix of meat, sauce and salad.

"It's not overloaded with ingredients, simple but tasty. Just like he prefers."

  • Tonight's the night

    Well, well, well.

Here we are, hours away from the World Darts Championship final - and 16-year-old Luke Littler is in the frame to win it all.

He's been the story of the tournament, lighting up the Ally Pally with his incredible arrows over the last two weeks.

And it all comes down to tonight's final against the pre-tournament favourite Luke Humphries.

I doubt he's awake yet, but Littler will SURELY be feeling the nerves on final day.

But all the pressure is on Humphries.

Will he be able to do what former world champions Raymond van Barneveld and Rob Cross couldn't?

Tune in tonight to find out.

  • Littler is REALLY 16...

Many have had doubt over Luke Littler's real age.

He has more facial hair than most grown men, and boasts lovely broad shoulders to match.

When you see him you think he must be 26, but when you speak to him, you realise he is well and truly 16.

That said, many still refused to believe that he is in fact just a teenager, not even an adult.

To put that doubt to rest, a photo of the Nuke's birth certificate has been leaked...

Luke Littler certainly doesn't LOOK 16, but he is...

  • Eyes on the prize

The jackpot for winning a Darts World Championship Final is anything but Littler.

The Luke derby takes place tomorrow, and the Humphries vs Littler will be played for a pot of £500,000, and the rest.

What do you even do with that amount of money as a 16-year-old?

It will buy you a hell of a lot of Fortnite skins, or FC points if they tickle his fancy...

He will be able to transform his own and his families lives with a win tomorrow, but can he pull it off?

Today, both Luke's face the music.

  • World number ONE!

Luke Humphries has moved to world number one, regardless of the outcome of tomorrow's final.

The winner of the World Grand Prix, the Grand Slam and the Players Championship finals, he is on an 18-game unbeaten streak now.

Has Luke Littler got what it takes to put a stop to that streak?

Neither of them looked at all phased tonight, but one of them will be tomorrow...

History will be made tomorrow night, that is for sure.

  • The finale: Luke Littler vs Luke Humphries

They met each other four years ago in a pub tournament, when Luke Littler was just 12-years-old.

Tomorrow night they meet again, this time to become darts champion of the world.

Luke Humphries has looked unstoppable at times in this tournament, no less than that game in which he just utterly demolished Scott Williams.

Luke Littler might be young, but he is mighty, and has the world and the crowd on his side as he heads into tomorrow's final.

Whoever is going to win it will be more than deserving of their first ever championship win, and we wish them both the best.

  • Luke Humphries through to the final

Luke Humphries will meet 16-year-old Luke Littler in the Darts World Championship Final.

He steamrolled Scott Williams with an emphatic victory, in a game that he never even looked like losing.

We have got one hell of a final on our hands tomorrow, but which Luke will be able to use the force to guide their darts into the doubles and win it?

  • GAME. SET. MATCH. Luke Humphries 6-0 Scott Williams

Humphries has the hold of throw now, and if he wins this leg he will be in the final tomorrow.

He needs just 80 to check out, but misses the match dart.

He needs a double 10 now to get the win, something Luke Littler is so prolific at.

AND HE DOES IT, SENSATIONAL FROM COOL HAND LUKE HUMPHRIES.

  • Luke Humphries (5) 2-1 (0) Scott Williams

Williams goes bust on a 126, and then misses a dart on bull, leaving Humphries with a double 20 to take the leg.

  • Luke Humphries (5) 1-1 (0) Scott Williams

Scott Williams delivers a superb leg to level the legs in this set.
