I didn’t want an ugly privacy fence so found the perfect way to stop nosey neighbours looking into our garden
WITH spring just around the corner, many of us will soon be spending an increasing amount of time enjoying the warmer weather in our gardens.
But whether you're sunbathing or enjoying some quality time with loved ones, there are few things worse than a nosey neighbour being able to peer in.
Well, if you don't want to fork out on an ugly privacy fence, then you're in luck...because one savvy homeowner named Beth has revealed the genius solution she came up with to stop "nosey neighbours" from looking at you in the garden.
In a clip shared to TikTok, she revealed the answer..."fast-growing" affordable evergreen trees.
Beth explained how she was eager to create privacy from the loft extensions at the back of her home so went out and purchased several pleached cherry laurel trees.
She then showed what they looked like when she first planted them 3 and a half years ago - noting that she ensured she planted them with a gap inbetween each tree.

The DIY whizz told how she used canes to add some more support inbetween the trees, which also helped them to save on the expense of needing to fork out for additional trees.
Beth then impressed social media users by sharing a photo update of how quickly the trees had grown after one year, two years and today - over three years later.
She concluded: "The cherry blossom pleached trees don't lose their leaves so we have privacy all year round!"
Clearly delighted with the end results, Beth explained how she believes cherry laurel pleached trees to be the "most affordable budget tree" if you're after something low maintenance, that leaves all year, and you're after privacy in your garden.
Not only that, but she praised how fast they grow too.
In a caption posted alongside the video, she penned: "We really do have much more privacy now because of the trees and there was no having to apply for planning permission which is great!"
However, she urged her followers to doublecheck with the local authority in their area to ensure no planning permission is needed if they were eager to follow in her footsteps.
The post has since gone viral, racking up a whopping 485k views and hundreds of comments, with many quick to commend the savvy homeowner on her genius idea.
"Great idea. Privacy is a must," wrote one.
A second praised: "Brilliant!"
A third enthused: "This is so nice. Just be aware folks laurel bushes are a massive magnet for wasps. They love the sap. I know this from my own experience."
Meanwhile, a fourth noted: "Fantastic!"
Another commented: "We have these across the back of the garden too and they are the perfect all yr round screen. But need a lot of trimming."
