The bathroom looked modern enough, but she wanted to add a luxe feel and cover the boring white tiles on the walls.

Instead of paying for retiling, she used a budget buy from B&Q.

Crystal decided to use stick-on vinyl floor tiles to cover her walls.

The DIY whizz picked out some large grey sticker tiles which cost £19.50 per pack .

To do the same yourself, Crystal revealed a step-by-step guide on how she did it.

She first picked out the tiles she wanted, which were the GoodHome Poprock Grey Tile Stone effect Self-adhesive Vinyl tile, and cleaned the walls before applying silicone.

While the tiles already had adhesive on them, she used extra silicone to make sure they didn't come off.

She then applied the stick-on tiles to the wall before using ready-made grout to seal them and prevent any water getting behind them.

"I just got the cheapest silicone from B&Q and a tub of ready made grout," she explained.

Crystal was chuffed with her DIY transformation and decided to show it off on social media.

The clip went viral on her TikTok account @crystal.jewell3 with over 2 million views and 52k likes.

People were quick to take to the comments and many loved the transformation but others warned it could get mouldy.

One person wrote: "It looks really nice. But the condensation will get behind them, and you’ll get mould & mildew."

Another commented: “Give it 6 months."

How to do your council house up on the cheap

  • Take inspiration from pricier shops and head to B&M, Home Bargains for interior decorations.
  • Head to YouTube for easy to follow tutorials on how to decorate rather than paying for professionals.
  • For a quick glow-up for your floors or anywhere with tiles, opt for stick-on vinyl to save on costs.
  • A lick of paint does wonders to make a room feel brand-new.
  • Switch out kitchen cupboard knobs for modern ones instead of buying brand-new cupboards.

"The mould that will grow behind these will be unreal," penned a third.

Meanwhile a fourth said: "Think I might have to copy you, I just had to pay for a new bathroom I really don’t wanna pay for walls done too."

"What a difference, looks lush babe, well done,” claimed a fifth.
