Baby dies after migrant boat gets into difficulties in the Channel

A baby has died after a boat carrying migrants ran into difficulties in the Channel, French authorities have said.

A total of 65 people were rescued by French search and rescue teams after the migrant boat got into difficult off the coast of Wissant in northern France.

A French navy vessel was among four ships and a helicopter which were involved in the operation.

An investigation has been opened in France.
