ELTON John has revealed that he has been left with limited vision.

The 77-year-old star suffered from a severe eye infection as he shared an emotional update with his fans online.

The Rocketman star took to his instagram profile to share a serious statement with his 4.9million followers.

In the essay, Elton wrote: "Over the summer, I've been dealing with a severe eye infection that has unfortunately left me with only limited vision in one eye.

"I am healing, but it's an extremely low process and it will take some time before sight returns to the impacted eye. I am so grateful for the excellent team of doctors and nurses and my family, who have taken such good care of me over the last several weeks."

He added: "I have been quietly spending he summer recuperating at home, and am feeling positive about the progress I have made in my healing and recovery thus far.

"With love and gratitude."

His famous friends and his fans flooded the comments section as they sent well-wishes to the legendary music star.
