  • It's not totally a new World...

Despite its massive growth in size, the Club World Cup will be familiar in one major way for many of the stars involved.

That's because the format is similar to the World Cup for international teams.

The 32 clubs are split into eight groups of four.

The top two teams in each group qualify for the last-16 knockout stage.

And from there of course it's all the way to a final.

Not forgetting the game not many teams will want - the play-off between the two losing semi-finalists for third place.

  • Bigger than ever... but will it be better?

The draw for the dramatically-expanded new Club World Cup is scheduled to start 6pm British time in Miami.

Manchester City and Chelsea are the Premier League's two representatives.

Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus are amongst the other 10 European clubs.

Fifa have increased the number of teams from seven to 32.

And instead of a fortnight in December the tournament will now be held over a month in the USA next summer.

South America has six entrants, with five from North America, Central America and the Caribbean.

Africa and Asia each have four clubs, with Oceania taking the remaining slot.
