The UK Pool Championships are promoted by Matchroom.
The company were run by snooker, darts and boxing promoter Barry Hearn before being taken over by his son Eddie.
The tournament has only existed since 2022, but has gone from strength to strength since then.
Two snooker stars will be in action at the UK Pool Championships today.
That includes Snooker World Championships semi-finalist Stuart Bingham and two-time Scottish Open winner Gary Wilson.
There'll also be a number of Mosconi cup heroes in action.
Troy Deeney says him playing in the UK Pool Championship today is "not a gimmick".
Deeney said: "I’m not coming here as a gimmick, turn up on the day and start trying to chip the ball. It won’t be like that.
“It’s me trying to learn something new. We can shed a light on these fantastic pool players. I’m genuinely grateful for the opportunity.”
The Birmingham-born star said: “I want to have a bit of fun, try to win a game or two, showcase how great this sport is.
“I think there’s more pressure on the other guys – they don’t want to be the one who loses to the footballer!
“That’s my mental edge. Get them to understand the pressure is on you not me.
“Some people may moan about this but then they always moan about something.
Enough of the snooker, now it’s time for the pool to get underway.
Today’s action comes from Telford International Centre as players compete to win the prestigious title.
Troy Deeney will be in action at 1pm as he looks to complete his transition from footballer to pool player.
