ITV green-light brand new drama from the writer behind Michelle Keegan’s Ten Pound Poms and Fool Me Once
ITV has commissioned a gripping new relationship drama from BAFTA-winning screenwriter Danny Brocklehurst.
Adultery is being produced by Ben Stephenson’s transatlantic indie, Poison Pen Studios.
Danny, who is known for his work on Fool Me Once, Ten Pound Poms, No Return, and Stay Close, is no stranger to crafting compelling narratives that keep audiences hooked.
Adultery is set to be no exception as it explores themes of class, grief, and the effects of social media in a contemporary love story that threatens to upend the lives of its characters.
The drama introduces viewers to Tom, whose 15-year-old daughter Jess is in the throes of a passionate teenage romance with schoolmate Ollie.
But when Tom unexpectedly crosses paths with Ollie’s mother, Beth, their lives take a dramatic turn.

As their connection deepens, the question looms - can Tom and Beth resist temptation, or will they, like their children, be consumed by desire?
Speaking about the project, Danny said: “This is a drama about passion, and I’ve passionately wanted to write it for some time.
“I’m thrilled to be partnering with ITV and Poison Pen to bring audiences a show about how love and sex have the capacity to lift us to the highest highs and the lowest lows.”
ITV’s Polly Hill added: “Danny’s brilliant scripts will have audiences hooked from the start. At its heart, this is a story about love, and I’m excited to have an addictive love story on ITV, working with Danny, Ben, and the team at Poison Pen Studios.”
For Poison Pen Studios, Adultery marks an exciting milestone.
Founder Ben Stephenson shared his enthusiasm, saying: “I am so happy to announce this as our first commission for Poison Pen.
“Danny and Polly share our passion for popular, smart drama—is there anyone more in tune with audiences than these two? We are delighted to be collaborating together on this!”
Adultery will air on ITV1 and STV, with streaming available on ITVX and STV Player.
