‘Glass skin in seconds’ woman says as she shows off the results of her two-ingredient face mask that cost just 48p
MANY people fork out a small fortune on luxurious skincare products in a bid to achieve a youthful and glowy complexion.
But according to one skincare enthusiast, you can achieve glass skin in just seconds - and it's all thanks to a two-ingredient face mask.
And the best part of all? It'll set you back just 48p.
In a clip shared to TikTok (@danicolexx), the beauty fan named Dani, who regularly shares different skincare tips and tricks on social media, says: "Using rice water mask to get glass skin."
Glass skin is a popular Korean beauty trend and refers to a totally flawless and poreless complexion.
She then proceeds to demonstrate how you can make your own face mask at home using just rice and water - and there's two different methods you can follow.

First up, there's the soaking technique, which typically involves soaking 1/2 a cup of uncooked rice in 2–3 cups of water for 30 minutes.
Or, you can opt to use the boiling method which will mean boiling it in double the amount of water you usually use for cooking, which is the technique that Dani followers.
She then simply drain the water and places the boiled rice into a blender, before whizzing it until it's the perfect consistency.
Once it's completely cooled down, it can then be applied to your skin.
"I do it 1-2 times a week," the skincare whizz reveals.
The post has since gone viral, garnering over 10. million views and hundreds of comments from people up and down the country.
"This is what i use everyday," wrote one.
A second asked: "Does it work with rice flour?"
Dani replied: "You can make it with rice flour!! If I’m using rice flour I mix it with aloe."
A third advised: "Keep the ice water as a spray!"
And another suggested: "If you add honey into the mask it’ll leave your skin VERY smooth."
While there haven't been many studies carried out on the effect of rive water, medicalnewstoday reports that existing suggests several possible benefits.
"Rice contains antioxidants, such as inositol," they report.
"Antioxidants help fight the effects of free radicals, which are volatile molecules that can damage cells in the body."
The publication goes on to reference a 2018 study which saw 12 participants apply a rice water gel on their skin for 28 days.

The results found that the rice had the same antioxidant activity as ascorbic acid, or vitamin C.
