Travel chaos as trains suspended from major UK station sparking huge delays for thousands of commuters
COMMUTERS using a major railway line are suffering severe disruption because of a signalling failure.
Services between London Paddington and Reading, as well as Heathrow Airport, are suspended due to a fault in Berkshire, Great Western Railway (GWR) has said.
The disruption is expected to continue into this afternoon - and could wreak havoc for travellers rushing to make their flights.
The signalling failure occurred between Twyford and Slough this morning, according to National Rail.
Some GWR trains are being re-routed to London Waterloo.
However, ticket holders have been assured they will be able to instead use South Western Railway services on some routes.

Elizabeth line trains between Maidenhead and Reading are also currently unable to run, said Transport for London (TfL).
In an update posted to X this morning, National Rail said: "A fault with the signalling system in the #Twyford area means that some lines are blocked.
"Trains between Slough and Reading may be cancelled or delayed by up to 50 minutes as a result."
In a further update, the network added that although some lines have reopened, delays are not expected to ease off until later today.
It said: "Major disruption between London Paddington and Heathrow Terminals / Reading is now expected to continue until 13:00."
The affected route includes London Paddington, Ealing Broadway, West Ealing, Southall, Hayes & Harlington, West Drayton, Iver, Langley, Slough, Burnham, Taplow, Maidenhead, Twyford and Reading.
However, those alighting elsewhere could also see knock-on delays and cancellations - with Swindon station among the affected stations, according to social media reports.
